Design connected through a browser

Figma's early public explanation placed the internet at the centre of a design workflow. Browser-based access and shared files changed how people could encounter, discuss and develop work together, giving collaboration a role within the product itself.

The company's own founder history identifies Field and Wallace as co-founders and describes the exploration that preceded the familiar design application. It supplies the background to a platform that now reaches across more stages of creation.
